Honig

The Goldschmidt family migrated from Nuremberg: one of its branches took the name Honig, and lived at the Goldener Pfau. The family acquired this unusual name because they had worked as honeycake bakers for several generations. This was one of the few manual trades allowed in the Judengasse.
