Rapp

The Rapp family got its name from the family home, the Schwarzer Rappe. The family was probably branch of an older Frankfurt family, the Bing or Rindskopf family. The Rapp family itself is first mentioned in the early 17th century. From the close of the 18th century individual family members are mentioned as rabbinic judges, bankers and lottery collectors.
